American Writers At Home

The poet J. D. McClatchy captures 21 writers` houses--including the homes of Louisa May Alcott, Robert Frost, Flannery O`Connor, Ernest Hemingway, Mark Twain, and Eudora Welty--in vibrant prose, accompanied by color photos. His aim is to look at the way these residences helped shape each writer`s work, and is full of fascinating trivia: William Faulkner, for instance, plotted out his novels in pencil on the walls of his study.
